Snow Day

You may not believe it, but this winter has been pretty mild here in East Tennessee. We had our first "official" snow last night and today. It has snowed here and there this year, but the ground has been too warm to let any of it accumulate. For the past 2 years, we were in Alabama and before that, we were in Mississippi, where the winters are very, very mild, so my kids have never seen snow before. This morning, Jack was running a fever, so I kept him out of school. Being the great mom that I am, I let my sick son and his sisters play outside in the cold snow for a little while!! Don't worry, he was bundled up pretty well, and we didn't stay outside long. I just wanted the kids to be able to play in the snow for the first time.

Speaking of weather...you all have to go to my friend, Frankie's blog, and check out her slideshow of the damage from the huge tornado that hit Prattville, Alabama (yes, that's where we lived less than a year ago!!!) several days ago. She is a very good friend and I am grateful to God that she and her family are safe and sound, even though the tornado hit less than mile from where she lives!!! Here is a link so you can see how bad it was: http://www.xanga.com/fiejinx/643627340/counting-our-blessings.html May God shower grace on all those who were injured or lost their homes in the storm and those who are cleaning up.
